The midsummer heat is causing problems for many people in companies. Not so for the Gammel Engineering team at the headquarters in Abensberg. We implemented our energy concept more than 25 years ago. The first office building we know of with component cooling (industrial underfloor heating pipes in the exposed concrete ceiling for cooling and temperature control) reliably ensures pleasant temperatures in the offices and meeting rooms. And cooling is provided by groundwater from our well, which is used all year round to flush toilets and irrigate our park after absorbing heat. A widely copied regenerative cooling concept without emissions from chillers. The Gammel Engineering team was and is "always one step ahead" when it comes to intelligent energy solutions. Our engineering team with project manager Thomas Winkler planned the new energy center with CHP and thermal oil sterilization for the Vivantes Clinic in Berlin-Neukölln across all service phases and supervised it during the construction phase.

On Thursday, 17.03.2022, the virtual meeting of the IHK committee took place, in which District Administrator Martin Neumeyer also took part for an exchange with the committee members. The main topic of the online meeting was the innovative project in Kelheim, which involved the plan to build a cable car between Kelheim and Saal. District Administrator Neumeyer spoke about his office's current plans for local public transport.

The print media, internet, television and radio are flooding us with reports on highly efficient technologies that will supply us with electricity, heat, cooling and fuel from renewable energies in the future. Exciting projects with hydrogen technologies are presented on a daily basis, engines and turbines are "H2-ready" and energy efficiency measures in industry and commerce are booming, as is the decarbonization of district heating networks in cities and municipalities. One would think that the climate targets set by politicians could easily be achieved with the wide range of project activities.
