12.6 million euro project in Bad Mergentheim: In conversation with Florian Prantl, Gammel Engineering project manager for the Bad Mergentheim natural heat power plant
Approximately 50 tons of (moist) wood chips are burned at full load operation, around 25 tons on average, every day at the natural heat power plant in Bad Mergentheim. The resulting energy is converted into heat and electricity. Stadtwerk Tauberfranken GmbH has built a district heating network to supply public, commercial and private properties in Bad Mergentheim, which distributes environmentally friendly heat throughout the city. Gammel Engineering was entrusted with the development of the business model, the system and approval planning, the tendering and award procedure as well as the implementation planning of the combined heat and power plant and the heating network, the project management and construction management as well as the quality assurance and monitoring of the implementation.
